The 2025 murals
Theme: "Life, Love & Music"
Stand 1
Kerry Nicholson “Our Song”
Sometimes I wake at night time Your picture beside my bed
I recall summer evenings you singing in my head

I can feel you right beside me. In a field full of flowers
I remember the life you gave me and the love that was ours

Stand 2.
Steve and Carol Monk "Judy and Sandra - crazy youngsters go to Frankston"

Usually seen on public transport is the sharing of earphones by adolescents. A practice often seen and taken for granted. This mural is based on that love and sharing of music. In this instance, earphones are replaced by headphones and the music is shared by a touch of hands.
We’ve all felt the swell of emotion that music can inspire, we dance and sing to it. We play it at celebratory occasions. We all have reminisces of a song that occurred at a memorable moment in time.
The sheet music is from the song, “Crazy Youngsters”, by Ester Dean. An upbeat song that embraces life and the joys of being young with a future full of endless possibilities

Stand 3.
Christina Rankin “Witness”
Witnessing life, love, and music, is an intricate dance of human experience where each element enriches the other.

Stand 4.
Chris Duffy "It's only life, love and rock'n'roll - but I like it."
Life is dramatic, love even more so. Music should always embrace that drama! This piece blends comic book style with Hollywood kitsch & rock 'n' roll, all infused with humour, creating a bold, vibrant experience that’s larger than life.

Stand 5. .
Gren Freeman. “ Rhythms of the Seasons ” Winner: People's Choice
Winter lullabies where the frogmouths nest Spring unfolds lorikeets on blossoms they rest
Cicadas hum through the summer’s warm haze
Echidnas shuffle through autumns leafy maze
Through these seasons life’s melody softly plays
A dance of life love and music throughout the days.

Stand 6.
Marco Pennacchia "La Tarachella"
Highly Commended Award.
A love for tradition and roots, music that fills the air, and a dance that radiates life and energy; the Tarantella, a traditional Italian dance, embodies the vibrant spirit of Italy, bringing together passion, heritage, and joy.

Stand 7.
Kristina Greenwood. “Guardian of Harmony”. Winner 2025
This illustration explores ancient stories surrounding forest guardians. A spirit which nurtures and tends to the wellbeing of the forest using the universal language of music. In my interpretation the spirit is an anthropomorphic stag, who plays a harp to bloom flowers under the blanket of sunset.

Stand 8.
Isabelle Kawai Vincent. "GUS- Gorgeous Universal Symphony"
Through my grandson, Gus's innocent eyes, life is seen with renewed freshness and joy. He represents love love throughout the generations. His happy giggles create a universal symphony exploding with Kandinsky inspired colours and shapes. The sweetest musical sound ever.
